Is there anything better than pizza and yoga? We didn't think so. That's why we caught up with restaurateur, yogi, and all over Spiritual Gangster Craig Demarco. From traveling the world, skate boarding in Venice Beach, to inspiring the culinary world, we loved connecting with this "Punk" Spiritual Gangster.

Spiritual Gangster: What does being a Spiritual Gangster mean to you?

Craig Demarco: A Spiritual Gangster is someone who lives with intention, and puts energy into the small details. They take care of themselves and cultivate their passions, while inspiring and supporting the passions of the people around them. When I met Ian Iopatin, we had such a remarkable connection because we conduct ourselves in such a way that we are always acting with intention, and don't settle for less than the best, especially from ourselves.

Spiritual Gangster: Owning restaurants means that you're always around food. How does food play a role in your life?

CD: For me, food is all about making a connection. And that's what every aspect of my life if about...making connections. For all of my restaurants, I wanted to create a space and an energy for people to connect; with others, with the physical space, and create a place for people to give and receive good vibes.

Spiritual Gangster: How does food play a role in your family?

CD: My kids have a little different of a taste when it comes to their taste buds than most of their friends. Food can be an adventure all it's own. We've raised them with flavors from different cultures, as well as cooking with really great and fresh ingredients, where they feel responsible and have a connection with where the ingredients are coming from, and how they were grown and raised.

Spiritual Gangster: What is your favorite meal?

CD: That's a tough one. But hands down Frasca in Boulder Colorado. Their gnocchi is heavenly.

Spiritual Gangster: When it comes to your restaurants, what is your motto.

CD: Quality and connections. Quality ingredients, quality people, and quality connections. That's what high vibration living is all about.

Spiritual Gangster: What is your favorite quote?

CD: It's by Billy Jo Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day. It goes, "A guy walks up to me and asks, "What's Punk?". So I kick over a garbage can and say. "That's punk!". So he kicks over the garbage can and says, "That's Punk?", and I say, "No that's trendy!"
